JB,
Would you mind reminding me what the ROM sketch (on page 5 of this thread) was all about? What was it drawn for?

The Netzer cover is boring. Miller is a good call.
ROM must be a little difficult to draw, you can't show expression with his face. Doctor Doom and Iron Man seem to get cheats with the eyebrows, but ROM maybe can show his eyes glowing redder, but the rest is body language. I really liked Sal's run on the series. I don't even think of the other artist who worked on the series when I think of ROM.

The Milgrom & the Miller are both professional jobs. The Netzer art is surprisingly amateurish. Everything about it is bad, right down to the bizarre pencil shading.Really really really weird.

Very true!
I guess he's more like Spider-Man in that sense... sorta. Although artists really tend to animate emotion into that Spider-Man mask.

And why did Netzer draw ROM as a giant on that unpublished cover?

Nice one, Dave!
I need a ROM! I was thinking a Sal ROM & Hulk vs. Dire Wraiths would be cool. Lots of zapping and smashing. Fun stuff.

Wasn't Netzer going for some kind of messianic thing? I think Neal Adams is also in the background, he was working at Continuity at the time. If you look closely, Rom has a kind of halo. (Not the game)

Unbelievable Sienkiewicz ROM piece, Dave. I'm really jealous. And I have to say that I've never heard of this Netzer guy. I'm going to have to google him right now
