JB,
Did you draw that entire logo by hand?

There's a lot to love about this commission. I really dig it when JB includes the corner box, logo, masthead, etc.

On the CHAMPIONS cover it appears to be printed out by machine... I think...

Upon examination of the larger scan, Spider-Woman and Black Widow look amazing. All the figures are great but they stand out to me.

Nice...I love that when you draw the Black Widow she's not some slutty dominatrix in a patent leather catsuit with cleavage busting out. She actually looks like a bad-ass superhero!

I remember that book. I had maybe two issues that John Byrne drew. One had the Champions fighting Doctor Doom, and the other had Swarm. Later, I picked up what would've been the final issue (#17, with George Tuska inked by Byrne), and the start of an arc that ran through Spectacular Spider-Man that explained how the team broke up. There was a lot of wishing that they had continued the book in those days. Given their West Coast base, it would've been natural for Spider-Woman to have been given a membership slot.

I had maybe two issues that John Byrne drew. One had the Champions fighting Doctor Doom, and the other had Swarm.•• The good Doctor didn't appear in any of the issues of THE CHAMPIONS I drew. Nor, to the best of my recollection, in any of the other issues! I wonder what you're remembering?
