It's incredible how much is going on... and yet it's all so well staged! Very easy to follow. You are a master, JB!

John, since it's come up, how many times do you play with the staging of a particular page and when do you realize that it's just right enough to commit pencil/pen to paper?

Great fun! I really like Swarm's attack, our heroes aren't having a good time with this attack!

John, since it's come up, how many times do you play with the staging of a particular page and when do you realize that it's just right enough to commit pencil/pen to paper?•• I've often told of how, as a kid, I didn't know about laying out drawings in pencil, so things could be erased and adjusted, so I would draw everything straight with pen. This meant a lot of drawing getting thrown away! But it also meant that I learned to form the pictures fully in my head before I started. In later years, when I finally learned about penciling, this "talent" persisted, so 99 times out of a hundred, I "see" my pictures in my head, as a fully formed image. I kind of "project" these onto the page and then "trace" them.

I'd buy that book. Brings back all those fun memories of the Champions, I really liked that team.

WOW. That's simply amazing. There have been some amazing commissions this year. I just had a commission done about a month ago, and I want more of them! It's uncanny as to how many characters JB can put on a 11X17 board and actually make the piece look great!

It's almost as painful as it's joyful to see these cover commissions. Painful because it remind us what superhero comics used to be, and joyful because it's like coming home again, the sense of nostalgia!

This looks like a real comic cover. I love it! Ghost Rider really stands out as my favourite figure in this one.
And JB, the Human Torch on a flaming motorcycle sounds awesome cool.

In later years, when I finally learned about penciling, this "talent" persisted, so 99 times out of a hundred, I "see" my pictures in my head, as a fully formed image. I kind of "project" these onto the page and then "trace" them. ............................................................ ..... And that is what it is, "talent". The ability to make it flow with so much going on is so impressive. Looking at the finished product I can't help but think "Where would you start?" Very nice JB.
