I can't believe this is 11 x 17! So much going on that I'd swear it was 20 x 30....or more! The backgrounds are insane, a huge achievement given the number of characters! Really like this one!

Can I really be seeing what I seem to be seeing? The relentless drive toward SAMENESS at Marvel has resulted in even Arnim Zola donning a black leather jacket??
(Hard to imagine the Red Skull admitting he'd need anybody's help to make any plan succeed!)
=======
JB, this is from the previous Captain America series. The series was well written, but for a 25 year old. Also, the attempt to make the art look realistic made this series look a little dull and dark.
It's nice to see you return Arnim Zola to his former glory. You draw the creepiest M.O.D.O.K. around and ALWAYS make the Fantastic Four look great. Wallace's comment is definitely shared by me in that, I want to read this story. Which makes for my favorite type of commission. Congrats to the commissioner, this one is AMAZING!

Boy, that is really something. I always like seeing M.O.D.O.K. especially drawn by you. Seeing Johnny held captive in that tube device reminds me of the other Torch from a Alex Schomburg cover of Young Allies or All Select. Congrats to the owner.

Love this! The pleats in Arnim Zola's sleeves have a particularly excellent Kirby look.

It's funny, but it seems like every time I've drawn MODOK lately, I have found myself wondering how Mark Gruenwald was able to resist, during his time as writer on CAPTAIN AMERICA, the urge to fuse MODOK and Quasimodo into QuasiMODOK. Is it possible it simply did not occur to him?

The pleats in Arnim Zola's sleeves have a particularly excellent Kirby look.•• Zola is one of those characters where I am compelled to surrender completely to my urge to channel Kirby. This is not a character who lends himself well to a "realistic" interpretation. (See above)

Speaking of Zola, I was about to add him to the Character Count, being convinced this was the third commission in which he has appeared, but when I checked the Gallery, I could find only THIS.Is there really not another?
