Is that Frankenstein Jr. issue the first FF #1 tribute cover?

Andrew, that comic isn't as old as you seem to think (note the UPC, for instance). The actual comic is "Hanna-Barbera Presents" #8 by Archie Comics from 1996, or so.
My guess is the first homage cover to "Fantastic Four" #1 was "Fantastic Four" #126, from the early 1970's.

The Concrete cover is a very nice homage. Very clever to use the wine, pasta and bread for three members of the FF.

That A vs X cover that Paulo posted looks a bit like it was done by Neal Adams. If so that's cool for Alan Davis, because he's a huge fan of Neal.

Found this on the web. Obviously a respectful nod from JB to the King.

Here's an FF 1 homage by Matt Feazell:
He was selling this at the SPACE con a couple years ago. He said he drew it from memory without actually looking at the FF cover for reference. I think it's pretty cool!

Lars, that sketch is credited to Joe Rubinstein.

I really like the speed line arc around Cap's shield in the Kirby shot - does an amazing job of bringing home that sense of impact!

Matt Feazell?!?!?! WOW, his name's a blast-from-the-past, from the "small press comics explosion" days of the mid-/late-'80s!!!

Yeah, nobody does impact like Kirby did.

The Feazel cover reminds me of this.
