Very nice, JB.

Really enjoy your Black Canary. Was glad to see her included in your Justice League roll call when Mr. Stern and you did the JLA Classified.

Are the fishnet done freehand?

••

Working out the pattern with pencil was done freehand. FInalizing in ink, I used my french curve.

Love it. I'm always a big Black Canary fan, not sure why the costume was changed, it's such a great costume.

JB, did you give any consideration to showing the Canary Cry with the sound rings? I think that this pose gets the cry across well.

…not sure why the costume was changed…

••

Simplest of simple reasons: a publisher who didn't like fishnets.

 Any chance you might do an 11 x 14 Ditko-ish Mysterio,just
for the heck of it?  :)

Very nice Black Canary btw. If you pass this on to Jim Warden I'll
have to reserve it and that Green Arrow too :)

I always wondered, after seeing those redesigns in the spotlight issue of Comic Book Artist, as well as the appearance in Legends, what a John Byrne Black Canary book would be like.  Pretty fierce, I'm thinking now.

Great piece.  Her determination, her stance.. all fantastic.

I think it'd be a great book, John does some nice stuff with our female heroes. I like how strong and determined most of the ladies are. I'd like to see a JB Birds of Prey or Black Canary book, I think it'd be great fun.

Classic design.  Classic costume.  Classic pose for her "canary cry".

And done by a master.

Great piece!
