There's been something nagging at me about the "battle armor" Superman wears now since it was first announced, and I think this thread has finally helped me nail down what that is... Since when is Krypton a warrior civilization where the donning of ceremonial armor is somehow seen as a good thing? Has there ever been a warrior-themed Krypton before this? There have been tales told of Krypton's war-like past with giant mechs and Dwalu warriors and such, but the modern Krypton has, to date, always been portrayed as a civilization either at or well beyond its peak, living more or less in peace with itself and neighbors... I wonder if all that's going by the wayside with this new incarnation... Is DC so pleased with its re-creation of the previously pacifistic Wonder Woman as Red Diana, She-Amazon with a Sword that Superman is now to hail from a rugged, Barsoomian he-planet where the men are men, the women are glad of it, and no man would think to shave his eyebrows, wear an evening gown, or reproduce through the mail? Is this the dawning of Kull-El, the Barbarian?
