The original yellow & red Kid Flash costume.•• That was his second costume, not the original. The original was a scaled down version of the Flash's suit.

Captain Marvel (Shazam!) -- classic superhero look, but with added panache. Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) -- early 80s look: sleek, practical and kind of sexy. Green Lantern (Silver Age Hal Jordan) -- not my favorite Green Lantern, but a great costume, streamlined and bold.
(How sad that, at this point, it's all but impossible to list any character without specifying which version.)

It's actually colored more of a powder blue. In Son of M they colored the similar collared version a bit more of a metallic blue with silver gloves, which is how I've always interpreted the white on the older version. "light blue & silver/white" would have been a better description of it.

Well, I'll agree that there have been many, many costume changes that were unnecessary, but some (Daredevil, Iron Man, Captain Mar-Vell, Kid Flash, Green Arrow) were changed to more iconic versions than the originals. Unfortunately, they seldom leave well enough alone.

This is a little OT, but my son and I are doing Spider-Man costume variations for Halloween this year (we're having a costume contest party for his friends). He is going as the Scarlet Spider and I in the Spider-Man Noir costume. We designed and constructed our own steam-punk looking webshooters for the costumes. I have some photos of our handiwork. If there's any interest (or critique), I can post a couple. Funny side note, my wife asked me what I was going to use to make webbing, as though my nerd lore would give me sufficient knowledge to make functioning webshooters! She just assumed all Spider-Man comic fans know how to concoct their own webs.

I was referring to different versions of the characters, not the costumes. I couldn't have, for example, just had said "Wonder Girl" and assumed anyone would know which Wonder Girl I was talking about.

Oh yes, I'll agree - that's an widespread problem in comics these days.
