I hate (by hate I mean envy) Nathan Greno.

I assume this will also be published through IDW?

One of the worst feelings in the world: Having that great idea, then seeing it done by someone else before you get to it. I truly sympathise!

A shame we won't be seeing AFTERMATH as you had intended, but I'm truly eager to see that superhero project.

Even a shortened version of Aftermath is better than no version.

A JB superhero book...I cannot wait ..it has been a while.

What was JB's last superhero book? FX? He's worked in at least three genres since then. (sci-fi, suspense and westerns!)

Star Trek
Angel
Jurassic Park
Next Men
Do I remember it wrong that the JL stint (with Stern and Farmer) was after FX?

Well, imo, the genres are a bit mixed. Angel and Next Men can be argued to be considered superhero books. Jurassic Park is part sci-fi part suspense. And I can't remember which one was the western!!

Exactly! A while back, I had come up with an idea for a series that I wanted to shop around - it focused on a family-run funeral home with a supernatural angle to it.  There was a dead father who was still "hanging around", his widow, and their three children - two sons and a daughter.  I was going to call it simply "The Dead."

Roughly four or five months into fleshing my idea, HBO aired the first episode of Six Feet Under.  That was the end of that!

Anyone else have a similar sob story?

Any Aftermath is better than no Aftermath...but still, I feel kind of robbed, since I don't watch Doctor Who, that there is a cool concept/story that was planned for the Next Men universe that I won't be able to see now. Please reconsider JB!

Honestly, if this gets me to the superhero book sooner, I don't think you will feel all THAT robbed!!

I'd like to echo what Joel said.   I don't watch Dr. Who, so I'm disappointed to discover this.  It was kinda sad enough to have JBNM truncated below the promised 50 issues.  Now we get less Aftermath :(
Still, I guess I should just be happy to returned to JBNM after all this time.

I'm happy with any Byrne stuff I can get my needy, greedy paws on.  Do whatever you need to do, JB, and I'll be the first in line to snap up a copy!
