Definitely will be purchasing this. Thanks for the heads up, JB. Also, thanks for the Amazon link, Flavio.

B&B was the only Batbook I bought in the 70s and early 80s, mostly because of the Aparo art.

One of my all time favourite artists...who sadly didn't make my recent top ten list of pencilers. Next time Jim, I promise.

I liked him from the very first, drawing Nightshade, Thane of Bagarth, and later The Phantom for Charlton. Although I own one of his Aquaman pages and a couple of Batman pages, I have to admit his stuff for Charlton was my favorite. Liked him a lot on the Spectre and the B&B team ups. As I think others have mentioned in the past, his renditions of characters were always "on model," yet unmistakably Aparo.

And, oh yeah, how could I forget to mention his lovely work on The Phantom Stranger. His major characters at DC, with the exception of Aquaman, were also characters Neal Adams worked on to good effect--Spectre, Batman, Phantom Stranger.

IIRC, he penciled, inked and lettered most of the books he worked on and they came out on time!!!!!

That is GREAT news. I love his work. He is the definitive Batman artist in my book (sorry John). I know many prefer Neil Adams... but for me... Jim Aparo has always been my favorite Batman artist.... and one of my favorite artists period. Love his work.

Aparo is my Batman artist, more than Neal Adams and barely over Marshall Rogers and Don Newton

One of my all time favourite artists...who sadly didn't make my recent top ten list of pencilers. Next time Jim, I promise. *** While Aparo didn't make my list either, he'd certainly be in a top 20 and he's still one of my favorite Batman artists. While I've come to enjoy Batman artists ranging from the decades before I was born (Sprang, Adams, etc) to those who worked on the character after I began reading comics (Breyfogle), Aparo was THE Batman artist of my early comics reading years and will always be one who comes to mind whenever I think of Batman (and the Spectre too). Several years ago I was in a local computer store with my wife. I noticed a man walking around who looked very familiar, but I couldn't figure out where I knew him from. Then it dawned on me. I didn't actually know him. He seemed familiar because his face looked just like he had been drawn by Jim Aparo! It was a strange experience. There's something about an Aparo nose that's unique.
