Bruce Wayne is now drawn to look 17 years old, so how the heck he's found the time to have four partners, one of whom is his 12-year-old son, I'm sure I don't know......

Even during the 70s, I saw Peter as the nerd. Even married, I saw him
as one. My problem is when people say Peter Parker is the
"Everyman". Peter Parker is not the "everyman". Peter wants to be
the "everyman" but he is always on the outside, even when everything
goes right. (Being a nerd or geek today is not the same thing as it was
in 60s, so it would look different, but he should still be one.)

My second one is when people say the FF aren't superheroes, because
they don't fight crime. People confuse the term superhero with
costumed crime-fighter.   The later is always been in the first
categories, but the former does't have to focus on crime fighting. That
is like saying firemen can't be heroes because they don't fight crime.

So IMO, it's putting the message out there that Cap's shield is pretty
breakable if u are a God of a certain class or some cosmic being, which is
not good.

If I correctly recall, there is an Alan Davis-drawn comic where Thor first
dents then smooths out Cap's shield using his hammer.

------

Peter has always had real-world problems (family responsibilities,
relationships, career issues, financial issues) that his readers can
relate to. They were, of course, compounded by his career as Spider-
Man, but readers could still relate to the idea of being torn in two
directions. When his problems became trying to juggle his
crimefighting and spending time with his supermodel wife at the
Avengers mansion, he became less relatable. This is what people are
referring to when they say Peter should be an everyman.

Agreed. Peter Parker lost his "outsider card" long ago when he
married a supermodel and was compounded by becoming a regular
member of the Avengers.

Ack. Don't get me started on the many ways in which my favorite
character has been royally misunderstand and screwed over by the
powers that be.

...and became Iron Man's protege, and outed himself on live TV, and erased his marriage through a deal with the Devil.......   <sigh!>

But remember that was Thor with the Odin Force,

And Peter did not marry a supermodel. Peter and MJ could barely
cover the bills for about the first ten years. She once considered a
lingere job because they needed the money, but Aunt May put a stop
to that. Through the early years of their marriage, she was model
without dependable work, rarely worked outside of NYC, and she was
struggling to become an actress. They were constantly broke, and
even for a time had to move back in with Aunt May.

Now I haven't followed every Batbook recently, but I don't recall Bruce Wayne being drawn like a 17 year old. If anything there are time he's been drawn to look too old. I prefer a Batman who looks 30ish

Kip, don't be obtuse. Whether or not she was an actual supermodel,
there is no doubt that she is considered one of the most beautiful
women in the MU. It's splitting hairs to debate whether or not she got
any actual work. A nerd, a geek, like Peter Parker getting the hottest
girl around hardly makes him an "outsider".

I'm with Matt. I get fired up when I look at how much they have mishandled Spider-Man through the years. It's better for my blood pressure to not discuss it.
