I think people are getting to hung up on the wording of the quote. The point is that people don't know what is truth and what isn't. A more accurate wording would be all paradigm changing truth goes through three stages.

Doesn't that fall under artistic license?

No. You were making a claim about a fundamental nature of human beings that was a guiding principle in this conspiracy to conceal knowledge. Claiming that people are being nitpicky and that it was artistic license when people rightfully pull the statement apart is a cop out.

It's nitpicky to claim every truth doesn't go through those stages...

The point is we don't know when a truth is actually going through those phases. That is why it continually happens over and over in history.

It's artistic license because it isn't stated in such a fashion to account for every situation.. It's illustrating a point. I am sure there are many profound quotes that aren't accurate in every single situation. but the point is still incredibly poignant.

We have a differing view on the definition of ALL, I guess.

"We have a differing view on the definition of ALL, I guess."

I think the issue is the definition of truth... the "all" isn't the issue.  I thought that was obvious when I first read the quote.

b : sincerity in action, character, and utterance
2
(1) : the state of being the case : fact (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality (3) often capitalized: a transcendent fundamental or spiritual realityb : a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true <truths of thermodynamics>c : the body of true statements and propositions
3
a : the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or realityb chiefly British : true 2c : fidelity to an original or to a standard
4
capitalized Christian Science : god
— in truth
: in accordance with fact actually

This subject is something I have been keenly aware of for a long time. I have always been an outside the box thinker and someone that doesn't follow the group. I feel that is something that allowed me to see this sooner than others. I go through this a lot and see how it manifests itself.

This confirms what I suspected to be the point of these posts. I should stop enabling it.

Just because it's true doesn't mean it's right:

Think as you like but Behave like others

If you make a show of going against the times, flaunting your unconventional ideas and unorthodox ways, people will think that you only want attention and that you look down upon them.  They will find a way to punish you for making them feel inferior.  It is far safer to blend in and nurture the common touch. Share your originality only with tolerant friends and those who are sure to appreciate your uniqueness

Anyone here who are made to feel inferior when faced with Charles' ideas? Show of hands? Anyone? Don't be shy, now ...

Hm. Nope.

I feel bored and a little hungry right now. Possibly unrelated to these "ideas".

I'm gassy, but I'm always gassy.  It's worse when I align myself with magnetic north.
