I agree Robert.  When computerized coloring, for lack of a better term, came about, the colorists were going a little crazy with their new toys.  Or maybe they did it at the request of the editior?  Anyway, they have toned down quite a bit, especially when they deal with older material.  Or so it seems to me.

I did notice on that Walt Thor page that they recolored all of the energy effects as well as Sif's costume, switching the white/red primary scheme.

I haven't read those issues in a loooong time. The Sif examples I am finding online (drawn during Walt's run) seem to have red sleeves...

She did wear a red outfit as well, but in the original comic, as shown in the pic posted above, her "shirt" was white while her headgear was red.

Workman's lettering was the perfect compliment to Simonson's art.

If they did recolor the FF Omnibus, is there anything you would do differently from the original color job?

••

If by "you" you mean me, I have not been asked to participate in this project.

---

That is unfortunate. I have no idea if you would participate but I wish they would at least ask. A project like this would be so much more appealing to me with your input/involvement. Then it would truly be the ultimate John Byrne FF collection!

Just like to say I put in my order for this at Ye Olde Local Comic Shoppe and I'm stoked to finally read the run!

Only a few more months!!!!

I noticed on Amazon that the cover at least was colored in the same style as Walt's omnibus. Here's hoping the entire book is done the same.

It seems like Steve Oliff won't be doing this one. It took him a year to do Walt's run on Thor, and he was hoping to get a chance at doing Byrne's FF when I spoke to him recently. So it seems like someone else is recoloring it. Hopefully it will be done well.

Just got a notice from Amazon today that this is shipping early on November 8th. So next week it's here, very cool.

Just came to post the same thing.  More excited about this than any book in a while.  I've read a few issues here and there but when this run was happening I was so young I wasn't going to the store myself.  Wondering if the issue with the Thing trekking alone through Ego the living Planet is in this batch? That was one of the first FF comics that really grabbed my interest.
