I believe IDW is able to do the Thor book because Walt still has all his original art. Still, I would love to see an art book like that of JB's Uncanny X-Men, his FF and/or Superman.

What's the consensus  on the coloring for the Thor omni? From what I've seen it looks like one of the few times they've recolored old art and not completely messed it up. There are a few areas that they messed up, but most of it looks great. I would like to see it done with more Omnis to give me some kind of motivation to buy them over the trades.

The choice of covers are the pin-up from issue 250 or the cover to issue 236.

Sadly, it looks like Jack Kirby's image will once again be omitted from its rightful place next to Stan Lee on that cover. Possibly because of the legal issues Marvel has with the Kirby family, which is the reason the image was omitted 30 years ago, or maybe the image is not able to be restored. Either way, a missed opportunity by Marvel.

When I see the cover to FF 236 without the any of the cover copy, my eye is drawn to that huge blank area where Jack Kirby should be.

It looks like Stan might have body odor and no one wants to stand beside him.

This is an easy must buy for me.  Even though I have all the issues the abilit to have them in one place is so nice.

If it is recoloured I hope they tone down the lens flare effect they are using on the torch.

Rod yes I believe I see what you mean.  That was my only objection to the recolored Tales of Asgard (which really looked wonderful with the new colors).

Stan's arm isn't mine, either. I had drawn Jack standing in front of him, obscuring most of that side of his body, and whoever removed Kirby's image added that arm and shoulder. The hand might be mind, tho.

Has the version with Kirby ever seen the light of day someplace?

If there is a copy of the original cover art with Kirby SOMEWHERE, maybe you could forward it to Marvel's reprint editors and we will finally see the cover as JB intended!
