Legion of Super Heroes and Green Arrow are the only ones of interest for me now.

I also hate the fact we've lost Booster Gold, Secret Six and JSA to this. Those were 3 of the best titles DC had going at the minute.

Dan DiDio tweeted (or twitted as the case may be his lack of JSA):

"AS for JSA, we have decided to rest this concept while we devote our attention on the launch of the three new Justice League series. As for other characters and series not part of the initial 52, there are plenty of stories to be told, and we're just getting started. best, DD"

I think there are untold bad (or just plain weird) calls at work here, but I think letting the JSA concept go is a good one. It allows the modern heroes to be the world's first major surge of heroes and gives the whole production a greater immediacy. It also cuts ties to World War II, a longtime fan favorite era for heroes, but an era that's seen so many stories it might could use a rest.

It's certainly a risk, though. DC fans are often drawn to the long history of the setting.

As loath as I am to see JSA "rested" I, depending on how these
seemingly contradictory titles shake out, can see how they don't match
up with a DC universe that has Superman as the "first super hero."

Now an Earth-2 series set in WWII with the JSA, I'd be down with
that.

I kind of feel bad for Marc Guggenheim since he was working towards an upbeat story for JSA and now it's being cut short.

In a live chat last night, Jim Lee said the JLA "has never had an awesome
origin." Never read the following, I guess:

That origin story is one of the best comics I've ever read; in fact, the entire
Englehart run on the series is off-the-reel, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd like to offer my own little rebuttal to Dan DiDio:

"I've deciced to rest the concept of buying any more DC comics while I devote myself to other forms of entertainment that are better worth my money.  There are plenty of stories to be told; Unfortunately, the ones you are telling are worth s**t.  Best of luck in your future publishing endeavors (whatever they might turn out to be); I suspect you're going to need it."

Thomas, Justice League Year One was no slouch of a story either.

That Batwing book doesn't look half-bad, but Winick is on my black list
(along with Azzarello, Marz and Johns, to name a few).

Must admit, Adam, JLA: Year One wasn't my cuppa, mostly because my old
guy's brain had trouble accepting Black Canary replacing Wonder Woman in
the early day's of the team. I had trouble getting beyond that bias.

Interesting interview with Gail Simone regarding the reboo...ER, relaunch:

http://www.newsarama.com/comics/gail-simone-dicusses-batgirl -and-oracle-110609.html

"I'm not really a good apologist. I like DC, and I love the DC Universe, it's a source of never-ending joy to me. But I myself was not on board the relaunch at first and it caused some real friction. I had to be sold. I've always said my whole career that I wanted to write by the improv credo, "don't negate," which means, even if you didn't care for something, you try to make it work, you don't say, "Oh, that particular story didn't happen." To top it off, it's a very bittersweet day for me as my last Birds of Prey issue ever comes out today. It's an emotional day, and I do understand the skepticism."

Ironically enough, Jim Lee said the Dick Dillin era was his favorite a few days ago. He must have missed that issue!
