I'm so glad I stopped reading Superman since Byrne left.

I think I'll be picking up these first issues:
-JLA
-Aquaman
-GL New Guardians
-DC Universe Presents
-Demon Knights
-Frankenstein

And I'll be adding these to my pull list:
-Superman
-Action Comics
-JLI
-Green Lantern
-Green Lantern Corps

This is all subject to change based on additional details coming to light.

I figure I'll definitely get Superman (Man of Tomorrow), Action Comics, Batman, Detective Comics, Justice League, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Legion of Superheroes since those are books that I already get.

I'll try (with fingers crossed) Aquaman, Green Arrow, The Fury of Firestorm, Justice League International, The Savage Hawkman, Batman & Robin, Batgirl, Blue Beetle, and Nightwing. Suicide Squad would be on this list but no John Ostrander makes it sketchy to me. I liked Superboy as it was with Jeff Lemire but I'll look at the new one and Supergirl as well.

All others will get a wait and see from me except Batman: The Dark Knight (David Finch is late and art is not for me), Birds of Prey (No Gail Simone, no way!), Red Hood and The Outlaws (I HATE the Red Hood), Teen Titans (Brett Booth artwork and designs...horrific), Hawk & Dove (there are few names out there that will turn me away faster than Rob Liefeld, even though I did get his Hawk and Dove in the 80's) and any title by Judd Winick

I just hope that the ones I decide to get are good comics.

I've heard this refrain many, many times and just have to ask;  are you buying them because you enjoy them or because "you already get them" and don't want to stop?  In other words are you buying out of habit or the desire not to break a run of comics?  I've gotta say even if I was buying Superman, Action Comics, Batman and Detective, what I'm reading about the differences from what is published today and what will be published with this event would have me dropping them like a hot potato.

No I'm buying them because I like them. I collect no comic that I don't look forward to reading each week. I have high hopes that these comics will be improved with some of the changes that they're making. I'm an optimist. They'll get dropped if I don't like them.

I'm under an assumption that since I already like those comics (and characters) I will continue but a creative team that I have no confidence in can change that. For example, I buy Birds of Prey but with no Gail Simone, I won't buy the new title. In fact I'm not buying the last two issues of the current run because she's not the writer.

=====================

I remember the old days; when you followed characters and titles.
Creative teams didn't matter.

Personally, I'm a character follower but the wrong creative team on a book can kill my enthusiasm quickly. I noticed this in the earliest days of my comic book reading when Herb Trimpe was replaced by Mike Vosburg on G.I. Joe, the characters didn't look the same and that threw me off for a while.

Back in those better days there was some kind of consistency and every title wasn't "redefined" by its new creative team.

Of the lot of 52, I will check out Justice League to figure out what to make of
it, but I'm really eager for Legion of Super-Heroes, Legion Lost, Frankenstein,
Batgirl, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman.

Interrestingly (at least, to me), Aquaman is the book I'm most excited about.

Well, I tried to cancel all my DC subs via email, and the mail I sent them  kicked back to my inbox as permanently undeliverable.  Curious timing for their subscription service to be down...

Even if it were not for this relaunch, this is not a single solicit that I'd get.  Maybe Scott Snyder's Batman, as I've been digging his run on 'Tec.  But I'm leaving them.  Can't see supporting any of this relaunch with my $.
