I find Van Sciver to be an uneven artist. Some panels look great and others very amatuer night. I have to wonder if he uses a swipe file.

0/10 for me in this batch. (Although to be fair, I've had an anti-DC bias since they brought Barry back.) Mr. Terrific comes the closest, but I haven't heard anything good about Eric Wallace's work, so it's not enough to get me over the hump. The "DC Universe Presents" title seems to have taken over for the rumored new direction for Adventure so I wonder what, if anything, is going on with that title. Some interesting stuff in the premises, though. Some of that stuff (particularly Firestorm) comes across like they'll be picking the characters up where they were left in the "old DCU," but with the events leading up to it tweaked. Sorta like what happened to Batman in the 80s when Denny O'Neil took over. But others (Hawkman) seem like total restarts. (Which makes me wonder why they're calling him "Carter Hall." Seems like it would be cleaner to call him something else. Or is established name more important than established characterization?)

I would have preferred a reboot that returned characters to a point closer to their original forms. *** Agreed, Wallace.

I am interested in the JLI book done by Jurgens and a favorite of mine Aaron Lopresti. JLI was a book I really enjoyed before so I may try it again. The rest of them not so much.

That superheroine on page 13 ... ... is that WonderBatWoman? That chest pattern doesn't remind me of an eagle. All this rebooting: Why not just publish juveline editions for the 8-14 years olds with the old numbering system, and reboot to number 1 for the gritty superhero pervy readers? Seriously.

Be that as it may, even though I'm a huge Firestorm fan, having Van Sciver involved with it has me not buying it. I will NOT support his work in any way. Period. Besides, that design work of his there truly sucks.

Wonder Woman's costume is whatever, but Cliff Chiang is a great artist. I love his work, he's a quality pro. I'm shocked a guy with his clean, clear storytelling ability is getting a shot on a major title, but so be it. I'll buy his work no matter where it appears.

I have to admit, I'm a proponent of a savage Hawkman. My only issue is that I don't think the character works well in your regular world. Since I don't like science fiction technological worlds either, he needs a savage world to operate in. Like Ka-Zar. This and Ryan Sook's Deadman are nice pieces.
