Actually raising my DC title total, but they some have very little slack. If they don't hook me quick, they'll be cut.
Superman, Action, LSH, Legion Lost, JLA, JLI, Flash, GL books(all of them), Demon, Green Arrow, Batman books(all featuring Batman).

Having lost (by choice or otherwise) JSA, Secret Six, Birds of Prey, Booster Gold, and Teen Titans, I'm not actually raising my total by much.  We'll see how it pans out in a few months.  I'd be in for a Captain Marvel (Earth S) book or a JSA/All-star Squadron (WW II E2) book, but that's wishful thinking.

Rumour (keep in mind that word! RUMOUR...) has it that James Robinson is going to be working on a JSA series with Nicola Scott on art, which is why she's not present in the credits of any of the new 52.

Just a rumour... but a potentially wonderful one...

I'm just hoping it's JSA or Batman: Face the Face writer James Robinson, and not JLA: Cry for Justice writer James Robinson. *shudder*

I'll take the James Robinson that helped kickstart the return of JSA a decade or so ago.  I agree about CRY FOR JUSTICE.  I read it all at once and was very disappointed.  Felt a little foolish about recommending the series (based on Robinson's name) to my brother after reading what was done to Speedy among other things.

I'm intrigued by the James Robinson/Nicola Scott JSA rumor. Hope it's true.

As to Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family, boy, a Darwyn Cooke series set
on Earth-S would be pretty awesome.

"Woah now, buddy - let's not start throwing jabs at Carnivorous vulgaris or Eatius birdius just because we're angry at an unrelated matter. " This line was worth the slog through the DC silliness. Thanks Brad!

I read a copy of Charlton's "Ghostly Tales" this morning.  It was a 1975 issue that I picked up at an auction and it happened to have the statement of owneship in it, the first time I think I've ever seen one in a non-Marvel title.  It said that "Ghostly Tales" was selling about 135,000 copies a month, which hammered home yet again how far the industry has fallen when something like killing Ultimate Peter Parker today barely sells better than an unexceptional horror anthology that would soon become a reprint book.

But it also caused me to think about the DC reboot.  What will it take to call it a commercial success?  Maintaining current sales levels?  A spike in Direct Market sales that'll keep comic shops open for a few more years?  Or will this thing only be a success if same day digital release breaks out of the DM ghetto?  I mean, shouldn't a Grant Morrison Action Comics available in stores and on digital devices be able to sell better than a 1975 issue of "Ghostly Tales"?

Mike

--------------------------
I don't. Robinson's greatest JSA work was an Elseworld's tale that only is palatable because it's an "Elseworlds" despite his efforts to weave a lot of it into the continuity of Starman. Otherwise, it's a testament to his tendency to make characters more realistic by saddling them with character flaws, to turn heroes into villains while making villains more heroic. It also shows off his tendency to negate or put his mark on stories written by Roy Thomas, retconning retcons. I liked his Starman book, but almost every story that featured a character that wasn't Jack or the Shade was to malign them.

I shudder to think what a re-imagined JSA by him would actually be like.
