Only 5 pages will be by Brent Anderson, the rest will be by Rags.

Only 5 pages?

I like Rags, but a whole issue by Brent Anderson is also something i would have liked.

"the current art style in vogue has the penciller adding much of the detail that in previous years would have been the inker's responsibility."

Hm.  I suppose some people would say it was a huge step forward to present more of the artist's "pure" vision but beyond the practical problems posed, I've seen too much art where the union of inker and artist works incredibly well to be in favor of it.

Woah now, buddy - let's not start throwing jabs at Carnivorous vulgaris or Eatius birdius just because we're angry at an unrelated matter. Wile E. may not ever get the bird, and he may not ever rise above his desperate ineptitude, but his creativity, imagination, and passion to succeed far outweigh those same traits in lesser beings (like the people in charge of Marvel and DC).

From your lips to Jack Kirby's ears. Or whatever cosmic being he is now. I just hope The Kirbyestial never looks back to what has been wrought In His Name.

Ok, we're 2 weeks away from this happening.  If you are buying some of the new #1's, what are they?  If you're not buying anything, what, if anything, are you buying in replacement of DC?

For me, I'm buying about 40 titles.  Which, believe it or not, is less than I bought this month from them.  Some, like the Jonah Hex title, Aquaman, Flash (to name a few), I'm willing to give them time to catch my interest.  Others, especially Action and Superman, have 3 issues to grab me before I dump them.  I suspect by December my DC list will be about half of what it is right now.  Financially that's a good thing, but the money doesn't play into what I collect.

My comic shop is offering a deal where you can get all 52 first issues for half price.  I doubt I'll get more than 10 or 12 second issues, but I might as well give 'em all a shot.

I'm only getting the Legion titles and the Jonah Hex one.

Batgirl kinda interests me because I was picking up Birds of Prey......but I dunno. Same goes for Batwoman, I really like JH Williams art, but to get these books out on time, the first arc may be the only one that he illustrates.

Well, I was interested in Aquaman until I saw the cover of number 3 where he's using the trident to skewer a foe... Now, it's going to depend on how I'm feeling the week it comes out.

I really enjoyed Resurrection Man the first time around, so it depends on the artwork. Possibly Legion Lost as it features some favorites.

Since I've not bought any DC's in the last 8 months, this is a plus but none of what I'm buying is on the strength of it being a reboot. They could've been launched three months ago and I'd have taken a look at them. In fact, the reboot and redesigns are keeping me from being interested in about a half dozen others I'd normally check out: Firestorm, JLA, Superman, Green Arrow, Captain Atom, JLI

"If you are buying some of the new #1's, what are they?  If you're not buying anything, what, if anything, are you buying in replacement of DC?"

Of the September batch, I'll just be getting the two Legion books, which I'd been getting before.  (They're calling it "Legion Lost" instead of "Adventure Comics," but it's still the "2nd Legion book" so it's effectively a wash.)  Dropping Detective Comics, Birds of Prey, and Batgirl.  Justice Society and Secret Six were dropped for me.

To fill the void left on the pull list, I've started getting Hellblazer again (and filled the hole that had grown since I stopped getting it), and I've been checking out Usagi Yojimbo and the Hellboyverse (I was there for the original mini, but skipped the follow-up due to cash flow and have been ignoring it since then).  Also, Invincible got a new lease on life from me.

Since DCBS offered a deal where you can get them all for 50% off, I'll be getting them all the first month.  I think they have the same deal for all the #2's, so I'll get all of them, too. After that..... well, we'll see. I've no interest in supporting 52 DC titles every month, even with the standard DCBS discount. I'll keep up with the ones I like and dump the rest.
