Rags Morales is showing his original art page labels for ACTION COMICS 2, on Facebook, and telling people to lay off the rumors. I guess at least where he's concerned. I'm still pulling for that guy, as he's a quality artist. Just wish Rags, and all the quality artists working today, knew how to work with an inker so they could produce a lot of work instead of their slowly-cultured bouquets.

I've never seen a train wreck like Nu DC. It's Bad Idea Jeans mashed with Wile E. Coyote's best inventions. I mean, I don't have to read the Nu 52 to know they are going to be chock full of horrible characterizations, mutated morality, glacier pacing, adultified nonplotting, fugly art and/or half-finished artwork complete with re-scanned panels page after page. I mean, I'm absolutely counting on DC in this regard.

Woah now, buddy - let's not start throwing jabs at Carnivorous vulgaris or Eatius birdius just because we're angry at an unrelated matter. Wile E. may not ever get the bird, and he may not ever rise above his desperate ineptitude, but his creativity, imagination, and passion to succeed far outweigh those same traits in lesser beings (like the people in charge of Marvel and DC).

It's a pretty weak excuse if you ask me.

Having absolutely NO idea when Rags got the script for #1 (it is Grant Morrison after all), we don't know how much lead time, if any, Rags had.

Y'know, they spent up the past couple of years recreating a multiverse and just letting it dangle...why not just keep the DCU intact and say their titles now focus on one of those other earths? Geez. Simple, no?

Well, my DC reboot subscription misadventures continue: DC Subscriptions sent me a letter this week informing me that Batman Inc. has regretfully been cancelled and that my subscription would automatically transfer over to Batman. Except, wait a tic, I already subscribe to Batman. So I called them and the lady in the subs office just was not getting it. I already subscribe to Batman! Am I now going to get two issues of the same Batman comic a month? She said she would just extend Batman by the number of issues remaining on Inc. No thanks! I only have 4 issues left after September and I do not want any more beyond that. I also dropped Finch's Dark Knight like a bad habit - I cannot continue to support a book that has only produced four issues in nearly 9 months. It's bad enough that I have supported it this far. So, here's my lineup from September on: Batman, Detective, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Teen Titans (for Tim Drake) and Red Hood & the Outlaws (for Jason Todd). This is what I get for subscribing in the first place, I suppose...

No. But the current art style in vogue has the penciller adding much of the detail that in previous years would have been the inker's responsibility.

Mmm-mm. I like what i saw of Rag's pencil for issue 1, and his coverfor it too. Also, issue 2 will be drawn by Brent Anderson, rotating artits or quality fill-in i don't know, but it seems they do what is necessary to keep the book monthly. And Brent Anderson is an excellent choice.
