The ominous-looking JLA may represent the way in which the League is supposedly perceived in the new, new DCU, as being unknown, unpopular, and largely feared by the general populace. Which works right up 'til they do the story where that turns around and the public hails them as the champions they truly are. And then later someone will flip it back again. Until someone decides that heroes should again be celebrated.... It seems to me the Avengers were caught in this loop a few years ago. As for Wonder Woman's pants-less-ness, I wonder if the widespread coverage of the failed pilot is leading DC to distance themselves from that visual. Just a theory...

For me, he IS today's Garcia Lopez! Dynamic, elegant, powerful style. Currently the best heir to DC's tradition, in my opinion.
I wish he could draw all the DC merchandising, like Garcia Lopez did!

I love Ivan's work. I don't see mush John Buscema in it but a lot of Alan Davis.

Kudos to Gail Simone for taking the opportunity in the final issue of Secret Six to kill the entire cast. If you're rebooting the universe, no need to be shy about your story telling!

Reis, to me, is a smash-up of Alan Davis and Neal Adams. He's the ONLY reason I'm on-board for the new Aquaman series.

Ivan Reis is my top favorite artist to come out of the past decade. I know he's been doing work a long time, but I really took notice on his Superman run (not sure if was Action Comics or Superman) and really got blown away when he started doing Green Lantern.
Ivan Reis can keep a monthly schedule with that gorgeous art, knowledge of anatomy, perspective and dynamic layout compositions, there are really no excuses for anyone else in the biz.
That said, I do like David Finch as well, way more than Jim Lee anyway. Hell I don't think it's a bad thing that an artist isn't afraid to use blacks the way he does. There was a time where black seemed almost non-existent with all the hot artist. But the Wonder Woman pose is just sex-pot typical. She's an amazon, she should be taller than the men!

Why couldn't they have just made Cyborg a member of the current league (in issue 6 or 7) instead of having to add him the original team (5 years ago)?!?

I didn't know Reis did a Superman run before GL. I discovered him on GL. I need to check this out. I like Finch, too. He really learned a thing or two from Silvestri, methinks. ( Silvestri and Lee being the two Image guys that I liked, that's not a bad thing.)

Better yet, why go back and re-write the origin. Totally unnecessary!Instead... Hi, we are the Justice League. 5 years ago, the team was founded by the seven original members. Since then, many heroes have joined and moved on. Currently, Cyborg is the newest member of the league. And look! John Stewart is also a member (since Hal Jordan is not Green Lantern right now and Guy Gardner is a member of the JLI while being featured in GLC, just like John). So easy. Why make it difficult?

Action #s814/825 (#s820/821 excluded), plus two backups in #s812/813. Great stuff, I think that's the best artwork appeared on a Superman title since JB left.

Finch is a good artist, he has a Buscemian vibe (like Silvestri had), and I'm always glad to see a comic book drawn by him... i.e. never.
I wanted to order the new Dark Knight ongoing, but... the bad experience with Volume 1 was enough!

"Why couldn't they have just made Cyborg a member of the current league (in issue 6 or 7) instead of having to add him the original team (5 years ago)?!?" Cyborg is also another brick in the wall of denial about how the DC Universe doesn't fit together. Forget about explaining how a normal human being like Batman is able to be of any use in a group including Superman and The Flash, is anybody supposed to be impressed by Cyborg's technology when Green Lantern's standing next to him with a "magic ring" capable of doing anything he can imagine?
