I wouldn't say the Flash logo looks "flat". My first thought when seeing it was "that fits the Flash." It conveys speed to me.In someways though many of these covers look like novel cover more than comic book covers.

That Jim Lee art looks to me like somebody trying to draw like Jim Lee...if that makes any sense. Those logos are pretty bad too except for the Superman logo there is hardly any thing about them that makes them stand out, which is what I thought the logos are meant to do, you know get people to pick them up off the rack.

The more I see that Superman face on the Action Comics cover, the more I see Captain Marvel and not Superman.

No JSA, but Stormwatch in its place. Yay!
*** That just did it. Any chance there was (slim as it may have been) of me checking out ANY of DC's product for this reboot and for the foreseeable future is now gone. That's absolutely disgusting. I don't care who's writing or drawing any of it now, not George Perez or anybody else. If DC wants to spit in the face of its own history and eliminate the JSA in favor of Stormwatch, this is one long-time fan who won't go near any of what they're putting out now.

Stormwatch is not replacing JSA; the are two completely different things. Stormwatch isn't DC's new legacy team. I think DC isnt saying anything about JSA until they're ready to reveal them in the nu-universe.

If they had any sense Stormwatch would go back into the Wildstorm vacuole and stay there.

Stormwatch, Captain Marvel, the Spirit, the Archie superheroes. I think all those formerly-outside-the regular DCU charactes would be more interesting in their own worlds rather than being shoved into a universe that already has Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, and about a zillion other long-established heroes.

On one hand I agree with you; I mean, Stormwatch's Apollo and Midnighter were created as Superman/Batman stand-ins, even to the point that they originated on a JSA-clone team. So, how do clones fit in a world with the real thing? On the other hand, Stormwatch isn't those just 2 and DC has never had a sucessful UN run team, so that niche is open. And Martian Manhunter seems to be taking a similar role on Stormwatch that we saw in the JLU.
