I guess last night was the deadline to place orders for the September #1s. I wonder what the numbers were. This is were the Darwinian aspect of this comes out.

Introducing some of the new logos:
Not bad.
Very "videogameish". The "m" is too invasive, though.
Mmh... it seems to me someway "heavy"... like a big piece of steel covering part of the art.

The same as before. Alright, I liked it.
Good, but too flat. It would need a "background logo"... you know, like in Amazing Spider-Man.
I hardly believe this is actually a cover logo.

"Comics" doesn't fit very well with "Action", in my opinion.
Classic logo... thanks!

From Comics alliance:
Q: What's Staying and What's Going from the Old DCU to the New?
A: While a lot is unclear as to the exact makeup of the new DC Universe, there are quite a few things we do know. For one thing, the WildStorm characters -- including Midnighter, Apollo, Voodoo, Grifter and the crew -- have been integrated into the DCU's history, seemingly replacing the Justice Society as the reason why Earth hasn't been blown up by forty billion alien dictators before Superman's arrival.

No JSA, but Stormwatch in its place. Yay!
Argh.

The two I like best are the closest to the original logos, "Action Comics" and "Superman." I really don't like the "Batman" logo, and the "Detective Comics" and "Wonder Woman" logos are pretty bland.

It warms the heart, don't it? Ugh. So, Stormwatch is a team dating back to the Golden-Age now?

Well, I often thinks that there are characters who should simply "disappear" from continuity, due to their belonging to a specifical history moment. This would avoid retcons like "Peggy Carter isn't Sharon Carter's sister anymore, she's her granny now". We all know that in 10, 20, 30 years the retcon will be obsolete.
I have no big problems if they erased (like apparently they did) the JSA. I had more problems in seeing them as 100 years old men. Maybe JSA could pop up in some alternate earth, with stories settled during world war II. That would be the best solution, for me.
But Stormwatch... ugh.

I was disappointed that when the JSA came back after the "Last Days of The JSA" special in the 1980's the writer who brought them back didn't devise it in such a way that the entire team was revitalized in the process, slowing their aging so that the concern of the characters being too old to still be fighting (or even alive) would be done away with from that time forward.

I do notice that the creative teams are placed above the the title of the comic. (Detective being the exception.) That seems new.

Just when I think you can't make Superman's costume any worse. Then I see the short cape, jeans and brown dress shoes on that Action Comics cover. Ugh.

Yeah, you never saw Stan Lee & Jack Kirby over any of the old Marvel logos.
