Oh my God... that's possibly the most nauseating page I've ever read.

 QUOTE:
Chris Roberson, the author of that issue of Superman, has said that
the story in Action 900 and his in Superman were written independent
of each other.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious from past issues of his run that Superman was losing faith in everything, including himself and America and that he eventually was going to regain it. It's just a coincidence it shipped two weeks after AC 900.

I'm amazed at how Roberson turned the turd that was JMS' Grounded into something cool. I can't help but like the guy who put Luthor's stealing of 40 cakes into continuity.

I enjoyed Babylon 5---fun TV!---but my gods, I have yet to read one JMS comic that I could stand.

I agree Agapito. Since JMS left Superman, it's jumped from barely
readable to downright enjoyable.

Brian, if we're to take anyone at their word and look at it objectively,
it's hard to see anything but a coincidence between this Superman
issue and the short story back-up of dubious continuity from an
anniversary issue.

As someone else said, tempest meet teapot.

Now all we need is Batman saying "Fuck the west coast. East Coast for life yo." and then having Green Lantern(Hal Jordan) punch him out. ALWAYS TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO DIVIDE OR ALIENATE YOUR DWINDLING AUDIENCE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OVER MINISCULE STUNTS.

Also according to that page Superman has a tattoo on his neck that reads "To be continued". That's pretty edgy.

In what title and issue did he receive World Citizenship?

He may have been granted World Citizenship earlier, but in 1978 he said this to Muhammad Ali:

"C'mon, I'm a naturalized Earthman! I've been granted citizenship in every nation in the U.N.!"

So he's had it for at least 33 years now.

I recall a Silver Age "Superman's Life Story" drawn by Al Plastino that
showed the UN honoring Superman by granting him citizenship in all
their member nations. The sequence was redone in the Seventies and
posted earlier in this thread.
