So we don't have multiple threads about Batman like we currently have with Superman, I moved your trailer link here, Justin. I also noted it in the subject heading.

Damn! That's cool. If only he still didn't move so stiffly in the suit. Looks too much like the Burton Batman.
Still, if the whole movie is as good as this trailer, I'll be happy. So far, no wholesale changes have been made to Batman - and I think the last line in the trailer shows that Bale can do Bruce Wayne's playboy persona spot-on.

I just watched the trailer and the TV ad through Apple's site.
WOW!
It looks like they've nailed it. Bruce Wayne is dark, driven...and enjoying every minute of what he's doing.
Christian Bale doesn't quite match my image of Bruce Wayne (Jim Aparo's
version, that is) but he comes very close to it. And his tone of
voice is great.

Everything about that trailer is incredible, except for two major things that really bug me:
1) If the Batsuit is a modified military-issue body armor, then in theory ANYONE could be Batman. I hope that the point is emphasized that Batman is a bad mo'fo regardless of whether or not he's wearing the suit or has access to his utility belt...
2) The various scenes of him flying/gliding through the air. I don't have that much of an issue with his cape functioning as glider wings under certain applications, but the Batman I know doesn't fly through the air regularly as a means of travel.
Besides those quibbles, I think it looks incredible and can't wait to see it. The decision to place Gotham in a "real" environment, and not the grotesquely cartoonish neon of Schumacher's vision was undoubtedly the right one.
