I heard Batman Begins is getting the IMax treatment. Can't wait to see this. Christian Bale showed in American Psycho he has the intensity to pull off the Batman role. I've always thought Bruce Wayne travelled the world seeking out the best teachers.

I've always thought he traveled the world, too... but from all I read from this movie, he maily just traveles Asia, one part of the world. Anyone have any insight to correct me on that one?

So Alfred is simply a butler.

Alfred has taked on a few roles in the Batman mythos, but he's never really been a "mentor" in the same sense as Harvey Harris.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS...don't read if you don't want to know...
Due to time constriants the movie focuses on the Asian part of Wayne's journey but there is mention of him traveling through other areas. Showing other parts of his travels may come in play in any sequels produced.

As far as casting is concerned, I had an odd thought a long time
ago. Call me crazy, but I think Adam West could have been a very
good Bruce Wayne and a very good Batman if the show had played it
straight.

Here's the theme song to the new movie:
"nananananananana nananananananana Bat-man...Begins!"

There is a short Batman animation by some animation students which has
West as a voice for a serious Batman. IMHO, he's doing an excellent job.

IMO, in that animation, West's Batman voice is not "serious." When he was
doing the TV show in the 60s, his portrayal of Batman/Bruce Wayne was
spot on. Sure, the lines he was delivering were campy, but his acting was
not that bad. However, in the intervening years, as he has been asked to
reprise his role as the-Batman-from-the-old-TV-show, West has drifted
into a character that is a mild caricature of himself. It's really a shame.

I grew up with Adam West's Batman, I'm forgiving towards the approach from the 60's. I love Batman and I'm dying for fox to release the entire series on DvD. I don't think Warners cross promoted their products for the film: Batman Special Edition DvD or Batman Returns SE. Maybe they are not as confident in the film as they are with Superman Returns.

(so as not to make a new Batman Begins thread. . .)
Just heard that Batman Begins is going to be coming to the IMAX theater
at Pacific Science Center here in Seattle in June. Watch out for it at your
local IMAX theater.

I heard that about the IMAX theaters, too. 'Course, I also heard that about "Star Wars, Episode III" and that's apparently not the case...

Are IMAX films just really large versions of the film?
