He's not saying the artwork appeared in the magazine, he's saying he suspects it was prepared for the magazine but then not used because the book was cancelled. *******l My bad. Although I did find a subscription ad that has a illustration like the one John Roche describes. I don't know who drew it, but the faces look real Starlin like.

The Apeslayer/Killraven saga is legendary.The usual excuse for it is that the UK ran out of material, but when you analyse what was actually available, this is total rubbish---there was PLENTY of US stuff available, including some Apes art from Beneath which they stole heads from to paste into Apeslayer! My, personal, theory is that a batch of art from US either got lost or did not reproduce well first time round (what SHOULD have run was Ploog's sumptuous 'charcoal' art from Terror).In a panic, somebody had the idea to re-use Killraven.In a ridiculous way, it kinda worked!
