Destiny was from a proposed series called SINBAD 3000.Yes, THAT Sinbad! In case you can't tell immediately, this was during a time when I was going thru a heavy Esteban Maroto period. I learned something important early on: never swipe from Esteban Maroto! Eventually I realized he swiped from almost everybody!! (This, along with some other "clues", had me convinced for a while that there was no such person as Esteban Maroto -- that that was a pen name used by a studio of artists.)

Seems like the thread to ask. Poking around Google looking for the POTA art in question, I stumbled upon this: *** Byrne-Bots!!!

In a similar vein, but a bit more traditional comic book hero as opposed to the other sci-fi/fantasy pieces, is this one labeled White Raven. Do I detect just a wee bit of resemblance to Nichelle Nichols there? I know you've stated in the past, JB, that you find some of these old pieces cringe-worthy, but I (and I'm sure many others) continue to find them fascinating. While your style has changed over the years, one can look at these pieces from 35+ years ago and still see BYRNE.

I really like the Ka-Davahr and White Raven pieces. However, Ka-Davahr is not someone I'd wish to meet in a dark alley, or even one that was well lit.

Ka-Davahr would make an interesting guest-star in a You Go Ghoul mini-series. I wouldn't mind seeing JB's "Space Angel" developed in some form as well... All of these look fun!

White Raven sort of reminds me of Misty Knight in that white costume from the Spider-man and Iron Fist MTU story.

Oh sweat, the White Raven looks like Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau with a racier costume.
JB did a great job with the new Captain Marvel in those FF and Avengers issues. He really did a good job visualized someone moving at light speed.

John Roche, are you sure it was JB? I only found two series Marvel did in the 70's. One was a UK series called Planet of the Apes, the other Adventures on the Planet of the Apes. That one was a US series that ran about 11 issues. Having viewed all 11 issues, JB didn't work on any of them from what I've seen. George Tuska and Alfredo Alcala did the interior art chores on the whole thing. There are a couple of Rick Buckler covers that loosely have a few of JB's rendering traits. I couldn't find any info on the UK series.

As Anthony said,in the U.K. when a title was selling poorly,it was `Incorporated` into another title hence POTA/Dracula,so it`s very likely that it was from the combined title.
