JB, I always wondered, what was the significance of the red stripe you had on the 1940's Batmobile in Superman/Batman: Generations?•• My little salute to Dick Sprang. . .

I've always liked that drawing, think it's fun to see Robin driving. It's a sharp looking Batmobile.

… this monstrosity, which I think was even called "the Batmobile" in dialogue…•• Batman refers to it as a "Batmobile", noting that it was Robin who coined the name, as "only a kid" would.

SIDEBAR: Looking for a shot of the Dick Sprang Batmobile, via Google, I came across a "review" of BATMAN & CAPTAIN AMERICA. While generally positive, it nevertheless slipped in that seemingly required/default comment that this was my "best work in a decade or so".Have you noticed how every time I do something new, some "reviewers" feel they must describe it as "the best in ________ years"? But if EVERYTHING is "the best in… years", doesn't that mean the work is constantly improving? And isn't that what it's SUPPOSED to do?

"Is it supposed to be the same car that's modified? It could be that Batman fixes new cars or gets new cars all the time or has a collection of cars. Is it like it's retconned that when we see a new car it has been like that 'all the time'?" **** According to "The Untold Legend of The Batman", he gets new cars all the time.

Interesting to note that, for the most part, the comics only have a few different updates on the Batmobile until the mid-80s (if this is a *fairly* accurate survey of all that were shown).
Then the flood-gates open and each *year* brings upwards of about a dozen variations.

What amazes me is the number of "before my time" batmobiles that evoke nostalgia, due to reading so many reprints as a kid!
