Thanks, Brian. And yes, I'll spend my money on something else.

Well, at least Iron Man can start feeling less guilty now.

Of course, that's what was always planned when he was shot.   "Time freezing guns."   What self-respecting evil genius wouldn't cobble one of those together given the resources?   Should be in every villain's arsenal.

There is a collection of THE THING (1983) series coming out at the same time as "FF." Coincidence?
*******************

The JB/Ron Wilson Thing series is being collected in trade? Let's hope they complete this series unlike the Alpha Flight Classic trades. I'm still waiting for volume two.

This notion of killing characters and making it an event is pathetic. Marvel is killing Ultimate Spidey and a member of the FF all around the same time. It is clear they and their writers have nothing left in their bag of tricks to make us read their comics on a monthly basis. So they pull out the old chestnut of killing someone. At this point how is this supposed to impress me? I know they will return. I know this is just a cheap gimmick. Why bother? Is this all they can do to generate sales over 100,000 for one month? Like I said pathetic.

My father-in-law asked me yesterday which one of the Fabulous Four was going to die. He saw something about it in the paper.

Well, that would have to either be Paul or Ringo, who are the only ones left...

Oh, wait...

Sigh...

Threads like this make me glad that I jumped off that train and ran away from the tracks six years ago.  I've been seeing the hype on the arc at the LCS these past couple of weeks.  I just pass these by after taking a casual glance at the panels.

I recall one scene in a recent FF story based on this "Nu-Earth" where the NE Hulk basically punched the jawbone off of a villainess in front of Ben, Johnny and the kids, and I kept thinking "If I were the little girl, I'd be shrieking my little head off, you big bozo!"  Fanboys, indeed.

It's another nail in the coffin.   Talk about driving the franchise into the ground.   MAN!   There are so many other ways it could go besides this.

Ah, but people are talking now, Francis!

And they got column space in the real world media!

The entire thing could be a complete and unmitigated disaster from this point forward, and they will still bask in the warm glow of self-imagined success...

From their point of view, this was already totally worth it!!

I am saddened that a comic company is once again resorting to killing off a major character to up sales.

So, enlighten me. Is it just a re-numbering or are they actually starting the series over, rocket ride, etc.?
