The Flash Thompson "reveal" was one of the dumbest moments in the Hobgoblin (sigh) "saga". Characters in the MU were supposed to buy that a big dumb ex jock was a criminal mastermind? Yeesh.

 QUOTE:
2. Gabriel Stacy however was recently seen in the abominously drawn "American Son" mini. American Son was a suit of armor Norman designed for Harry during the Dark Reign storyline and that he wanted his son to wear to join his Dark Avengers. Harry refused and moved on with his life bearing a big grudge (again).

Wait a minute, Harry is alive again?!

PS2: How do you pronounce Roderick? [rod-uh-rik] or [rod-rik] ? Thanks

**

I'm pretty sure that's it.

Thanks Gene for "Rod-uh-rick" !!

To Jeremiah: Harry was resurrected end of 2008 as part of Brand New Day. Osborn wasn't truly dead and had migrated to Europe to re-join his not dead dad.

How'd he know Norman was still alive? All those years of hating Peter were for nothing then? I'll stick with the issues from the 80's and earlier.

Couldn't agree more with you Jeremiah. However, Marvel & DC are well known for their fondness for revisionism (a fortiori  lack of respect for the readers...) and I think with these 2 publishers it's either take it or leave it...

As to Harry knowing Norman was still alive I think he didn't know it back then (circa Spectacular SM 200). He knew it when he awoke 'alive' in Europe. Which means Norman knew his son was alive when he was resurrected back in the Clone Saga in '96... Not really convincing, huh?

In case you're referring to the magnificent De Matteis / Sal Buscema issues of Spectacular SM, they're my fa-vo-reetes too !!

Those are great issues, Joss! Though, I'm also a fan of the Frenz/DeFalco run as well. Frenz is one of my favorite Spider-Man artists.

Frenz is one of my favorite artists, period.

As for the Hobgoblin, I never really had any ideas who the real Hobgoblin might be, but I was damn sure at the time that Ned Leeds was going to turn out to be a red herring.

And I really didn't care that much for the second Hobgoblin, but the gimmick was sure better than the Jack O' Lantern one he had before!

(Sorry, but a Jack O' Lantern character is one that should only pop up once a year.....)

I have that website bookmarked, Joss. They also have Ramona Fradon, Mike Grell and a few other favs on there. I got a Frenz page (from a Hercules mini) off one of their eBay auctions.

Frankly, I preferred Frenz's work on Thor to his work on Spider-Man, but only by a hair.

I'm looking foward to the day when the Essentials line reprints the Ron Frenz Thor run as I've never read it.
