I'll be there Saturday for sure.  I'm not sure about Sunday.

I got an email from the Detroit Fanfare with some specifics about the Stan Lee VIP ticket:

"this ticket included regular admission into the show, will allow you to be at the 10am-11am Stan Lee Q&A session, Will get you one of your items autographed by Stan Lee in the first Signing Session between 11am-1pm, and a photo with Stan Lee During our Photo Opportunity Session from Roughly 5pm-6pm.  As well there will be surprises exclusive to this package that will be announced later."

That sounds good to me.  I wonder how the photo op works?  Do you need your own camera?  I wouldn't think so but then what?  A poloroid that you get instantly?  They email you a digital picture sometime later?  I'll have my own camera with me I think...

They'll probably have a digital photo printer right there, and you pick it up with an opportunity to get it signed if you want.

I'm still wondering how to go about this. I need to see if I'll be free later that day--why get the VIP ticket if I can't hang around and get a photo as well as an autograph?

Stan won't be free, I'm sure, either autographs, or pics together. If you want to walk by and snap his pic, that's probably the only freebie you'll get, and even that's not a given. The demand will be such, that there will probably be some kind of limit as well, like 500 each day, so getting in on the VIP deal assures you a spot and extras.

Not if IT'll be free, Dave,--if I'LL be free. I might not be able to stay all day in order to get a photo, too.

Greg,

The VIP ticket gets you access to the Q&A session as well which is earlier in the day.  If that's not worth the VIP ticket then you should just go with the autograph ticket which is like $40 I think.

Five weeks away!  But who's counting?

Amazingly I just found out Bob Dylan is playing in the area the same weekend and then in Columbus the next week just before MidOhioCon!  What are the chances?  I'm an obsessed Dylan fan for those who haven't been paying attention.  I don't think I'll be making these shows however....

Hey John,

Awesome con report!  If you missed it, there's a whole thread dedicated to the Cincinnati Comic Expo!
