I remember the day like it was yesterday. This gem was brought home to me by my dad, along with a Star Trek comic and a UFO magazine. All culled from a spinner rack at the gas station he frequented to cop smokes and petrol.

I bought this at People's Drugstore off the spinner.  I have been fond of these charaters; especially Hercules and Black Goliath ever since then.  Really a fun comic.  I of course, had to track down all previous issues; that took a while.  But, it sure was fun.  I do remember trading a EBR John Carter novel to a guy at school for 8 and 9.  I still have them all.

Superman 14 with Green Lantern.

Picked up on spinner rack. Those were the days.

Like many here, I probably bought a JB comic before I realized it was JB, but the one that sticks out most in my mind has already been posted: MTU 59.  I know it's early in JB's career, but that cover has always been one of my favorites.  Brings back so many good memories.

It certainly would not have been my first Byrne comic as Marvel UK had reprinted others before it, but it was the issue where I first realised who he was - his first X-Men issue, reprinted in Rampage.

The reason? The quote from Dave Cockrum saying that he was not dead. I needed to find the answer to who Dave Cockrum was (The previous artist), which led to the search for who the current artist was. Ah, John Byrne.

"Which means, of course, I received no payment for its original use -- or rhis one!"

Wow, really? I had no idea. Very interesting indeed. Using it was probably some Swedish or Norwegian editor's choice.

The story inside is of course the MARVEL TEAM-UP story featuring Spider-Man and the above depicted Red Sonja.

I'm pretty sure it was The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1, but it was Alpha Flight #11 that made me a real John Byrne fan.

It's hard for me to remember which comic was the first Byrne book because the reason I had interest in Byrne books was because of Saturday Morning cartoons: Spider-Man And his Amazing Friends, and GI Joe I enjoyed so much.  Byrne's books resemble what I watched on tv and I clinged on to that cartoony art style.  So it could have been FF 236 or maybe Alpha Flight#14 or my Marvel Team Up's I inherited.  I'm not sure.

I'm almost positive it was Marvel Team-Up #65...

It may have been something previous to this, but this is the first title that popped into my forehead! =)

Hard to tell.  My earliest memories of comics are "reading" my older brother's that he had in his toybox.  I THINK the first one I read was:

Then the first comic by JB that I read and realized, "Hey I really like this art." was this one (also one of my older brother's):
