I first saw JB's work in Iron Fist, but I first started following his work in X-Men, from his arrival on that title.  I was certain that I wouldn't like anyone as much as I had liked Dave Cockrum.  I was wrong.

Who knows? I mean geez, the guys done EVERYTHING...what was my first?
My earliest memories of distinguishing Byrne from the others was in the Marvel Team  Up issue that featured Equinox.
The next was the Uncanny X-Men that featured Dazzler and Kitty.
From there it's all a blur of Byrne art.

X-men 132.  I remember trading for it along with a Giant size Defenders.

Tough one. I started reading comics in 1981, but my dad used to take me to a used bookstore in Farmington, MI and would give me $5 to buy old comics (I think they were $.15 each), so I believe it was this comic since the cover sticks in my head so well:

I remember my grandmother giving me money I had earned. Went to the drug store and this caught my eye. With the Thing being my favorite superhero the choice wasn't hard.

X-Men 114 was probably the first issue I had that contained JB art.

I bought FF 243 & 244 in a hospital gift shop when my grandfather was hospitalized with cancer.  I probably read those books 15 to 20 times over the next week while I was at the hospital with him.  Those 2 issues of FF made me a lifelong fan of JB's work.

My first JB comic was either FF 209 or Avengers 187.  The former has an Aug '79 cover date, the latter has Sep '79.  The way the ol' spinner racks used to be filled it's entirely possible that I picked up both during the same visit to the grocery store.  Either way, it's been 31 years of JB goodness.
