I really liked Mark Farmers inks. It gave a little different quality to JB's pencils but it still looked like JB's work. Bob Wiacek always seemed to me like a journeyman inker. He isn't going to give you a wow factor, but always solid no matter who he's inking.

Interesting. On the flip side, I remember when Day was pencilling Master of Kung Fu, they had Jack Abel ink several of the issues. Abel generally did good work but he tended to be pretty heavy-handed, simplifying things and using a very thick, solid line. On some artists he was not my favorite, but his inks on Day's pencils looked fabulous. He removed a lot of extraneous noodley lines, and his thicker lines made Day's pencils much more dynamic. He brought out the strengths in Day's pencils and offset his weaknesses.

Love Bob McLeod over JB's pencils. Machlan seemed to have two distinct inking "personalities." The first few issues, the inks seem t have a "softer" feel to them. After that he went to a more "mechanical" Terry Austin style. I like them both, but prefer his earlier issues. My favorite non-regular JB inker is Walt Simonson. Look at that X-Factor Annual they did together. Senses-shattering stuff, there!

I loved what Mark Farmer did over JB's lines, and even though Scott Williams inked JB for just three pages in Uncanny X-Men 273 I would have loved to see more of the two working together.

Yes!! Scott Williams! I always sing his praises on that brief job whenever it comes up.Also, a more-than-honorable mention needs to go to George Perez. I LOVED Action #600 - I bought that issue as a kid even though I wasn't a Superman (or even DC) fan at the time. Between JB and GP, I consider JB to be the better penciler and I consider GP to be the better inker (don't worry JB, I still love your inks of course). So when they got together, the result was magical.

Bob McLeod's more recent inking work has become lighter in touch and less of a finisher, and I would love to see him ink JB on a new project. They're both great artists in my opinion.

I'd be curious to see Danny Miki ink John's stuff.

He would have removed all kinds of detail.
