Just don't leave it lying around, or your mom will throw it out with some old newspapers. ;) And your Mickey Mantle rookie card. Congrats, Fred. You officially own it. I picked up an Iron Man #1 for $1 back in 1983 and yeah it is in bad shape, but I own it.

You have to crack it open and read it, I mean, that is what comic books are for.

What other stories are in that issue? Spider-Man was only 14 pages or something like that, right?

The horror themed short stories "The Bell-Ringer", "Man in the Mummy Case", and "There Are Martians Among Us". Art by Ditko.

Congrats Fred! I'm sure it's already a cherished part of your collection! I remember reading a reprint of the There are Martians Among Us story as a kid and loved it. Ever since, I can't help but think that it would make a pilot for a great television show.

…o I think I am going to play it safe and leave it entombed.•• I wonder if that's one of those fake AMAZING FANTASY 15s that were circulating a while back. Cleverly "aged" xerox covers wrapped around random current comics. Instantly detectable to the touch, but as long as it's locked in plastic, I guess you'll never know.

Kinda like whether god exists or not, I'm pretty content not knowing at the moment and not sure that this stance will change in the future. :)

Start the countdown for the newest Bad-Byrne story: "John Byrne causes fan to expose valuable comic book to destructive atmospheric pollutants in cruel jest!"
