Andy, the example above is Aparo, NOT Adams; note the "JA" below the spotlight of Two-Face, just above the long scallop of Batman's cape.

I think the oval looks better when the cape, boots and gloves are black, as in the animated series.

True, but in that light, I think the oval might look better if it were white.
************** Didn't JB do that in GENERATIONS? Seems like I remember seeing that and it looking pretty cool.

I'd be down with white oval. But one way or another, I'm ovalating.

Opinion based purely on appearance and not on how the character looked during any of my favorite stories of the past: No oval.

This thread needs far more oval-related puns.

When I was a kid the oval Batman was the real one and the Earth-2 Batman (without oval) was 'obviously' not the real one. -read: Mine. When Batman TAS/Bruce Timm changed to the oval-less character re-design, it was like they flipped a switch in my head. I Love the oval-less version now (I even like the belt pouches!)

I even like the belt pouches!•• On that we will have to agree to disagree. The pouches are much too much of a literalization for my taste -- and MUCH too Adam West.
