Don't want the oval back. Also, I'm opposed to portmanteauing "pro" and "oval" into "proval". I'm apparently OK with making portmanteau into a verb though.

I prefer it as just the bat, I don't mind the oval though.
I think the real question should be, lets get back the real utility belt.

I Like when it was depicted as a target.

I Like when it was depicted as a target.•• How many of the hoods in Gotham do you reckon are marksmen? How many, with the Batman bearing down on them, would really take the trouble to aim? And how many, if they did, would aim at his heart, rather than, say, the lower half of his face -- the only part of his body they KNOW isn't armored?

I prefer the oval out, still I fondly remember my first exposure to Batman was with the oval in.

Regarding the yellow oval as a target, wouldn`t any marksman worth his salt just aim a few inches above the oval and get a perfect headshot?

I Like when it was depicted as a target. ---
If we tried to apply that principle in real combat with our soldiers, how do you think they would respond to that argument? "Carry this as a target on your chest, so you wont get shot in the head". "Umm.. pass."

When I first read Miller's "that's where he's armored" explanation for the oval, the thing that occured to me was that he's got a kid with him wearing bright red and yellow while he's wearing dark hues to help him hide in the shadows. Bringing in the "bright colors are targets" arguments make it seem that Batman has been using Robin as a decoy rather than as a partner all these years. In other words, that's a really bad explanation.
