What contempt has Moore shown the industry?

Plenty, when it comes to his disdain for superheroes. Which is why so many fans praise his work to the skies--they hate these characters almost as much as Moore does.

Thanos on an earlier page Laren stated
Time doesn't know "jack" about comics.
Then Brad said that Time seems to only
review "artsy" comics. That's why I
commented about a distinction being
made.

Well, how about this recent gem from 2005?

The DC comics were always a lot more true blue. Very enjoyable, but they were big, brave uncles and aunties who probably insisted on a high standard of you know mental and physical hygiene. Whereas the Stan Lee stuff, the Marvel comics, he went from one dimensional characters whose only characteristic was they dressed up in costumes and did good. Stan Lee had this huge breakthrough of two-dimensional characters. So, they dress up in costumes and do good, but they've got a bad heart. Or a bad leg. I actually did think for a long while that having a bad leg was an actual character trait.

Or perhaps this short routine from 2006 nails the dismount:

I despise the comic industry, but I will always love the comic medium.

Ok so we have established that Moore loves comics and despairs of the industry.

So much like our host then, no?

Mike, if I went to your home and spent my entire visit there defending a colleague of yours that you despise, all the while making nebulous comments about how you should be treated the way you want him treated, and you're like him though you won't admit it, would you be happy to have me as a guest?

Just wondering.

1) my entire visit has not been about defending Moore, just pointing out the inconsistencies in some arguements here.

2) as to would i have you as my guest if you spent the evening defending a colleague I despised, as long as you were not insulting me while you did it (as i have not insulted mr byrne) i would be quite happy to have you as a guest in my home.

3) never said JB was like moore I just suggested that some of the issues being used to bash moore could be applied to jb and would be equally as wrong as attacks on him also.

I like moores work I like jb's work, if my pointing out certain inconsistancies in peoples arguements makes you think i dislike jb you would be wrong.

No, Moore has expressed disdain for superheroes as a concept, while our host has not.

But the whole tactic of trying to show people are hypocrites by drawing comparisons to our host is bad form anyway.

While you're at it, Mike, do dozens of sycophants live in your home with you?

Just wondering.

MIke, go look at your own post up thread where you quote Matthew. YOU QUOTE someone showing Moore has disdain for superheroes. Did you not read what Matthew wrote before you quoted it? Or did you just quote it so you could make some smug comparison to JB?
