For heaven's sake, JMS' comments just sound so misguided. Her family is slaughtered? What makes him think WW needs something like this? The approach that needs to be taken with WW is thinking what must be kept first. The most iconic, memorable, best elements need to be kept. Those would be first the costume and second Paradise Island.

Not sure that cribbing from Superman's origin is the best way to reinvigorate Wonder Woman. Does every hero need to be clouded in tragedy? They even have GL and Flash motived by the deaths of family members now.

That looks like an anime costume to me, or something inspired by 80's punk rock.
Maybe both. She needs a pink Mohawk, a barcode on her neck and an invisible giant robot suit to pilot (where all her clothes explode off of her body when she 'melds' with it!). Plus, she's now 12 years old. Sorted!

Looks like the sort of thing someone shopping at Wal-Mart could put together •• Or something you'd get when you have a male artist who has absolutely no fashion sense designing an outfit. (Now, watch this turn out to have been designed by a female artist ---- who has absolutely no fashion sense.)

The contempt of the email in question at the start of the thread is nothing to the contempt of the "comic" writer towards Wonder Woman. Such an arrogant fucker about "HIS" take on a modern Wonder Woman. Dude, go write your own stuff and leave our comics alone. Why do they keep this guy in comics?
I didn't notice if there will be a Wonder Totem involved, did I miss that? Oh well, another comic to drop. It gets easier all the time.

The costume was designed by Jim Lee. I'm not a huge fan of the jacket or long pants but I like the top. I still don't think she needed a re-design anyhow.

It's funny that they dismissively mention the "hip" costume from the late '60s, as if this isn't just an update of the exact same thing. Is she still going to have powers? I can't imagine a super strong and largely invulnerable hero running around in such a restrictive costume. If they want to play "realistic," they aren't doing a very good job of it.
