Late to the party, but I love it. I really find this one to be inspired in terms of the layout of the characters. Iron Man for example isn't seen flying around zapping people, he's in the thick of things down on his knees tangling with the Hulk; Wolverine is prominent but doesn't overwhelm the scene; and Hawkeye is a great unexpected background character. Worthy of Kirby (hey that rhymes).

I kinda thought Iron Man was assisting the Hulk.

My take on the Iron Man/Hulk arrangement is that Hulk seems to be raging at Magneto (upturned face/eyes), and Iron Man appears to be "pulling" on the Hulk's bonds, not "binding" them.

He's trying to free the Hulk from the metal Magneto is restraining him with.

Hm! I just noticed that Magneto is sporting the costume with the lines/seams on the upper body part that JB depicted him in during his Uncanny X-Men run. I only remember it on commissions depicting scenes form those issues, while Magneto is wearing his more plain clothes in the general ones. (I think an outsider would call me crazy for even noticing that, but I really dig the little details in JB's work)

Nice. Very nice. Very very nice. Serval (I mean... Wolverine) seems to jump out of the page.

Stupid me, I should have looked more closely. In my defense, for some reason I automatically thought of the Kirby Hulk, particularly the classic Hulk vs. Avengers tussle in Fantastic Four #26, and saw Cap and Iron Man as tangling with the Hulk when they're actually helping him!

JB, when you do a piece that is this large do you have to change your process at all? It seems like it would be more difficult or at least more complicated to keep all the proportions and sense of balance correct on a page so large. Either way, great work. Of all your takes on characters, I enjoy the progression that has developed with the Hulk. As a youth I loved your short run on the title. But the times he's appeared in your commissions makes it obvious your rendering of him today is even more "on point".

Really like the way Magneto is holding his cape. Also, enjoy the way the metal is hitting on Captain America's shield. JB, do you get commission requests to add sound effects?

Breathtaking commission. It really has a 3-D quality to it. Everything is layered perfectly from the foreground to the back. While your Wolverine has always been the gold standard, the last few commissions he has popped up in have raised the bar even higher. I think it is pretty obvious that Iron Man was helping to release the Hulk from his trappings. I'd love to see how he domolishes poor Magneto once he gets free.
