JB,
New members of the Imperial Guard were introduced for the "Fate of Phoenix" story in X-Men #137 -- and in my opinion, they were the best designs of the group.
Do you remember why you ended up designing new members for the issue? Was there a reason only some of the original team were brought back?

Simple -- I don't like the Legion of Superheroes! So I was not about to start learning who the "new" ones (ie: since my days reading ADVENTURE COMICS) were when I could quite legitimately create new ones of my own. And ones that were not based on other characters.

So you're going to pass on my Legion poster commission request...?•• Not only that, but I am hiring four large men to come to your house and shake their fingers at you in a stern way, for even thinking such a thing! If I am really in a bad mood that day, I may even tell one of them to say something rude about how your mother dresses you!

I find it odd that you can't buy a collection of the Byrne/Claremont run of X-Men. Yeah, those issues have been collected under the "Essential X-Men" banner -- and they are part of the "Marvel Masterworks" collection -- and you can buy the Dark Phoenix Saga -- but why is there no "Byrne/Claremont X-Men Visionaries"?
There's a JB Incredible Hulk Visionaries...but not X-Men.
Strange?

Perhaps Marvel is afraid to put our names in any kind of "created by" position on the cover of something that they're mining so heavily for their movies. Afraid we'd pull a Marv Wolfman on them, maybe!

Nathan, give the Chief a few months before coming at him with the numbers...perhaps he'll have forgotten the pain by then! Again that's one nice piece.

That's ok, Brad -- I don't really want a Legion poster :)

It rocks to be Nathan Greno lately! (Or always, I don't know-- at least from here on out, right?)
Amazing.
