Like the color scheme on that Bruce Timmish version -- except the eyes.

When I was doing my "restoration" job on Galactus, I brought back the metal inserts in the eye holes of his helmet, and the colorist, for some reason, made them white. I didn't see this until after publication, and, alas, it became one of those instantly-carved-in-stone mistakes, which led to other artists drawing him as if he had black corneas with white, square irises.

I mean, really! Was I the only person on Earth with access to the original story??

(Interesting to note the Watcher's comment that the worlds whose energy Galactus had previously consumed had all been uninhabited. Makes one wonder what was going on when he came to Zenn-La.)

I've always assumed, for no obvious reason, that Galactus had to eat specific types of world-energies, not just worlds with 'life'.(inhabited or not)

In other words, he could come across a dozen worlds with life but they would be unsuitable to his needs for whatever reason, and he'd pass them by. The suitable ones he really NEEDED to eat would then be the ones on the menu. (Earth and Zenn-La fer example)

Otherwise he'd just come to a system and eat one planet at a time in order. The Shi-ar empire is pretty populated so he'd just eat all of their planets one after the other.

I always thought that the picking and choosing was more intersting for the character, because it wouldn't be enough for him to 'simply' find an inhabited world, but he had to locate one that contained the correct STUFF in it. Even starving, he'd have to pass it up.

GALACTOUS-INTOLERANT! tee-hee.

The need for a herald becomes necesary.
