^  So you have to stumble upon a copy in person?  Interesting.  You are more intrepid than I, sir!

O M G!!!

Just some of the most detailed inking by Austin in this work.  Sometimes over powers John's pencils but on the whole....just incredible!  Befitting of the Last Galactus Story.

Now please will someone reprint the entire story and do the decent thing and pay John AND Terry enough money to go finish it!!!

Can't think of a single instance where Terry's inks ever overpowered my pencils. Terry describes himself as belonging to the "tracers" school of inking -- and that he does. With Terry, what you give is what you get.

You know, if I had read this story a few years back, I might´ve become...WILLIAM ROBERGE!

Gorgeous handmade coloring. Were those watercolor inks, or what?

I love computers. The whole problem is the people sitting in front of them.

From Stan's Soapbox in my Captain America #112, published in 1969:

"One of the things we try to demonstrate in our yarns is that nobody is all good, or all bad. Even a shoddy super-villain can have a redeeming trait, just as any howlin' hero might have his nutty hangups. One of the greatest barriers to real peace and justice in the troubled world is the feeling that everyone on the other side of the fence is a "bad guy". We don't know if you're a far-out radical or Mr. Establishment himself - if you're a black militant or a white liberal - if you're a pantin' protest marcher or a jolly John Bircher - but, whatever you are, don't get bogged down by kindergarten labels! It's time we learned how fruitless it is to think in terms of us and them - of black and white. Maybe, just maybe, the other side isn't all bad. Maybe your own point of viewisn't the only one that's divinely inspired. Maybe we'll never find true understanding until we listen to the other guy; and until we realize that we can never march across the Rainbow Bridge to true Nirvana - unless we do it side-by-side!

Excelsior!

Smiley"

Only someone like Stan Lee could write a character as amazing and complex as Galactus. When I read JB's post earlier about the misunderstanding of many writers in regard to their interpretation of the character, I thought about this insight from the great one. What a shame it is that there aren't any Stan Lee's today.

Fair comment, John.  My post was based on the evolution of Terry's style after his work with you on the X-men, then with Marshall Rogers on Doctor Strange and his various jobs after that including FF covers, Alien Legion and fill-in issues such as DD#191.

I know that as an artist you are quite vocal in your critique of your previous work - John - how do you rate The Last Galactus Story?  As I remarked in my previous post, the detail in this work is incredible.
