I wonder if the slang term "whiz" meaning to urinate came into vogue before or after the Whizzer appeared in the comic books?  If it was after, it was unfortunate for the character. Although nowadays one hears "whiz" more in the connotation of speed than its other cruder meaning.

Sadly, the 1950s Cap was brought back again a while back and is the villain in the current storyline going on in Captain America. (And yes, he has no stripes on the back of his shirt) They also revealed his real name during the storyline, which I thought was a bad idea.

I love just about all Golden Age books.  I pick them up, no matter what condition, if I can negotiate a good price.

The art, action, disregard for political correctness, size, etc.  What's not to love?

A nice TPB or even a "Monster Society of Evil"-sized series of quality reprints would be great.  Maybe when the movie comes out...

Arc:

The current Cap run also trotted out the corpse of the GA Torch.  The memory of the Torch was already pissed on by the 'Camp Hammond' nonsense during Civil War, I shudder to think of what else they can do to that Android.

Unfortunately in the MU dead horses come back to life nearly as often as superheroes. :-(

 QUOTE:
There's a bit of  story weirdness in Strange Tales #114, with the Torch reading a GA Cap comic and finding out that Cap was Steve Rogers (!!).  Part of the fun I suppose.
