I really miss ads like this. Not only were they fun, in and of themselves, but they represent a time when it was FOR the FUN that readers (yes, READERS) bought comics in the first place. Not as "investments". Not because they were "completists". Just to have FUN. And a big part of that fun was not knowing anything about what was going to be in the next issue until you saw an ad like this the month that issue came out!

And somehow, without three-months-in-advance solicitations, and catalogs, and preview magazines, comics managed to sell ten or twenty times what they sell today.

Plus, the ads had some sort of action on the page and provided an indication as to what they would actually be reading - rather than just a pose and no captions.
