And have you noticed that organized prostitution only seems to occur in rings? Just once I'd like to read about a prostitution network, a syndicate, maybe even a combine. What about a pool, to get some alliteration going? If it has to be round, what about a circle? If it has to be a ring, how about a band? The possibilities are endless....

When Obama was leading in all the Presidential election polls, the Republicans said polls didn't matter. Now that the polls show most Americans not liking the Health Care bill, the Republicans can't stop talking about the polls. Now what "most people want" is most important. In 2000, when "most people" wanted Al Gore to be President, the Republicans loved our "Republic" and how it sometimes circumvented the majority. Now, take all the above and basically reverse it for the Democrats. It still works. I'm thinking of starting a Soda-Pop party myself. Though I'm sure my wife would prefer an Orange Juice party.

Polls are divided - while most generally show that Americans do want something done to make health care more affordable (50-60%), of course the opposing parties are only going to use the polls that reflect their arguments. What is annoying is the notion that most republicans who profess to hear nothing but anti-healthcare rhetoric from their constituents are referring to the cries of the carefully screened town hall meetings of their most fervent followers.
Polls are meaningless these days, with the instant gratification of the internet and the quick-click, I feel that polling getting a genuine feel of the people's pulse has gone the way of the do-do.

I recognize that in Canada, my taxes go towards paying for healthcare. However, I still make enough that I live reasonably well and I can afford rent, food, etc with enough left over for a few comic or movie related luxuries.
I had a horrible kidney infection a couple months ago. I went to the hospital, got blood work done, a urine test, a CT Scan to see if it was kidney stones, etc. Turned out to be an infection, and I got antibiotics. I don't have any medical benefits so I had to pay the full price on the prescription - 50 bucks.
In total, for all the tests, painkillers, and everything, my out of pocket expenses amounted to just that prescription. Total cost, 50 bucks.
I ask everyone who DOESN'T support some kind of socialized medicine in the States - how much would it have cost me if I had lived in Fargo not Winnipeg?
