Did JB draw them any differently? I can't see it myself.

I don't think so.

Does anyone know when Lex Luthor first appeared as bald? And Is it true that it was a mistake?

Who knew Luthor and the Joker both saw her crying in the purple rain.

The story goes that an artist for the Superman  comic strip drew Luthor's bald henchman as Luthor by mistake. I guess TPTW liked it and that became the model.

yes...other than the obvious difference in color, there are some differences in Box's head and the seams that run across his arms and legs.  looks like his chest is a bit different too...the original extends all the way to the torso whereas the new model separates the pectorals from the ribs/diaphragm.

You're right, Brad and I prefer the slightly amended second one.

That said, the point I was trying to make is that he went from the original 'look' which I would say the above two pictures both share to a radically different look that just didn't work.

Maybe I'm trying to have my cake and eat it after arguing before that Batman had different looks...

me too.  it looks more heroic.  the first one is a bit more brutish.

a radically different look that just didn't work.

stopped being box.  I absolutely HATED the re-designed Box.  HATED IT!!!
