Alas, that IS "common sense". Copyrights must be carefully protected, or they can very easily be lost. Ask the owners of the names "Kleenex" and "Xerox", for instance.

Michael,
It never hurts to ask again. Some of my commission ideas were originally rejected but later acepted. Tastes change as do circumstances.

Since i like zombie stuff, I'd wish for either

Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead series fighting some zombies in JBs style

or

Zombie Spider-Man

I've been trying to save up some money for a sweet JB commission. Money is kinda tight right now, but if I had it, I'd request the Monarch and Doctor Girlfriend.

I think JB would do such an awesome version of them.

I agree with someone upthread suggesting Ka-Zar.  Throw in Zabu and Shanna the She-Devil fighting Sauron and you got a commission!

No can do. Disney stuff is definitely on the No-Draw list. (Hence my concern about the Marvel deal.)

That's too bad :-(

John Byrne, have you ever considered make an Epic story with the Ducks? I mean, as some kind of Carl Barks tribute? I am sure Disney would be interested in publishing it.

I'd be interested in seeing what JB could do with John Constantine and the other characters from Hellblazer.  A JB take on Gaiman's Death might be cool, too.

I like the Dick Tracy idea.  I tried to talk Clint into a Ka-Zar/Sabu commission for his Monsters series (not really monsters but ya know...).

Hm....there were several characters conspicuously absent from the commission galleries that finally showed up in 2009 so now I'm not sure who else needs to go on that list.  A few more ideas:

Hellboy
Marv from Sin City

Thanks, Dave!  Great rendition of Death, JB.  Are you a fan of Gaiman's writing, by the way?

James Bond would be my choice. I've seen evidence, in several conversations here over the years, that JB truly appreciates the 'real' Bond, as Fleming created him. I think JB doing a Bond comic would be excellent.

Hellboy makes a lot of sense. Go for it
