Loved Dynamite mag as a kid. I remember a Star Wars comic series by Simonson with Luke battling the Empire in some ice planet-- pre Empire Strikes Back. Can anyone post a few of those Simonson pages? |

The local library used to stock Dynamite. I loved the Duo. Also, it was the first place I heard about Dungeons & Dragons!

George, you're thinking of Pizzazz, Marvel's answer to Dynamite.
Loved both of 'em when I was a kid. Had a subscription to Dynamite for several years.

That brings back an old memory or two. I seem to recall seeing these magazines as a kid, but I never did pick them up. I think they stopped publishing by the time I seriously started getting into comics.

Dynamite was a great read and I loved the occassions my parents actually gave me money to buy it from those in school ciculars that the teachers passed out monthly. Pizazz may have been ok, but it never clicked with me as much. It may have been because I was outgrowing that material by the time Marvel began the mag.

Fred, those school circulars were where I bought issues of Dynamite as well! Ah, so many happy memories associated with those...

I had that issue of Pizzazz as well as several others. I liked it better than Dynamite. That particular cover is a favorite.

Don't remember either one of these. 'Course I didn't really start collecting until 1983. Amazing Heroes was my fan magazine.

This cover amused me... _________________________ It's funny, but I thought there would have been some sort of copyright problems with it back then...

Loved me some Dynamite! My first exposure to Daredevil, Wonder Woman, Thor and many other great characters.
